We will always respect your privacy, dignity, and your religious and cultural beliefs.
Intimate examinations will only ever be carried out if you fully agree to them. If you need an intimate examination, you will always be offered a chaperone to sit with you in the room.
You can also ask for a chaperone for any consultation or examination, even if it is not intimate.
When can I ask for a chaperone?
You can request a chaperone at any point in your journey with us. Please feel free to ask:
Who will my chaperone be?
Your chaperone will always be a trained member of our practice team (usually a nurse or other clinical staff member). They understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality.
If you prefer a male or female chaperone, please let us know as early as possible. We will always do our best to accommodate your request, though it may depend on who is working that day.
